At the beginning: Hesiod, the first economist

Our current reading is Murray Rothbard's extensive history of economic thought "An Austrian Perspective on the History of Economic Thought". We start this blog with the poet Hesiod, the first economist according to Rothbard who wrote a poem about scarcity, which is what economics deals with.
